Tameka is a Consultant at Blair Foreman & Co.  She is acknowledged for her ability to conduct comprehensive and thorough research, ability to identify legal issues and factual inconsistencies and to satisfactorily resolve these issues.  She has also successfully negotiated several settlements based on sound and resourceful pre-trial strategies and enhanced training and certification in mediation. Not one however to shy away from advocacy Tameka has worked on several cases including but not limited to the Nicole Fullerton v. Attorney General Constructions Ltd., Delapenha Funeral Home V. Attorney General and Daphne Burton v. Errol Burton ( incidentally the first case reported in Jamaica to award maintenance for adult children to further overseas educational studies).  Tameka’s legal experience in contractual breaches claims, personal injury and medical negligence claim is extensive and include reported and unreported cases to include but not limited to Samuels v. Cato, and McWilliams v. Magil Construction Ltd.

 

Tameka has also successfully settled and negotiated several medical and personal injury claims working with and developing a relationship with legal officers at Advantage General, Jamaica National General Insurance (formerly NEM), British Caribbean Insurance Company (BCIC) among others.

 

Tameka holds a Bachelor of Laws (Hons.) Degree from the University of the West Indies and was admitted to the Jamaican Bar in the year 2006.  She has litigated at all three levels:  Resident Magistrate’s Court, Supreme Court and Court of Appeal.  familiar with the operations of a government entity.

 

Tameka is former Senior Associate in the Litigation Department for Jacqueline Samuels-Brown, FIRMLAW, known and respected for her work in the areas of criminal, civil and public policy and judicial review litigation.
